Our Story
The Crab Traps I purchased in the local Outdoor Stores were flimsy and cheaply made. My Mom and Dad lived in Carthage Missouri and owned a rabbitry with 400 New Zealand White working Does. They had a contract to sell them with Pel Freeze out of Rogers Arkansas. My Dad worked for his family driving and hauling gas to the 10 Convenience stores they owned. So...my Mom stayed home and raised me. She also built 90% of those rabbit cages by herself along with feeding and watering them everyday. So, when I complained about the Crab traps I was using, she said ok son, let's build you some traps. We purchased a roll of vinyl coated wire and used stainless steel hog rings. My mom researched a bit on how to make a good trap and used her own knowledge from building the rabbit cages. We made 6 blue traps with yellow inside. We went to throw them out and a man was watching us. I pulled them out of the water and he ran over to us asking where we got those traps. I told him we made them. He said I will take 6 of em! They were delivered that evening and Rising Sun Crab Traps and More, LLC was born.
Our Products
We make crab traps in 3 sizes, including Pier/Kayak size which are suitable for small children, Half-Size Crab Traps, Recreational and Commercial Traps. We also offer Crab Holding Pens, Live Fish Bait Pens, Crawfish Traps. Turtle Traps and Eel Traps upon request. Shoot if it can be made of wire we can do it! Special Sizes and Colors upon request.
